Winter Freeze
Wow! its been very cold this past week and today one of the coldest days this winter so far. When I got up this morning it was a cool minus 13 who knows how cold it got while we were sleeping. John turned on the news to see if any one died from the cold and they didn't mention any one, so he said great at least no one died. Our son Paul on the other hand has been without water since about 2:30 this afternoon John his Brother Dan and later Anthony tried everything they could to unfreeze it so far no luck. I hope they get it soon , I know it gets very discouraging when you can't help yourself because of mother nature. Well I better get to bed and warm up, work tomorrow and I hope our Son was able to unfreeze his water.

Daniel is still in school. looking forward to a new semester of learning. The Lord is good to us I must say we never go without it might be slim sometimes but we make it work by the hair of our chinny chin chin.Im hopeing that this will be an other good year of lifes adventure ups and downs and all around good living with the Lords Blessings and our self help.:)
John is getting the house next door ready for renters. Our retirerment income! I have to trust that all goes well and it usually does even if it takes more time than I feel comfortable with. I also pray that John will have good works coming his way!

THE THANKSGIVING FEAST

The Day began with my sweet husband getting up before me and started the day. Coffee of course, He prepared the turkey and took out the giblets for me to use later in my famous stuffing. Then I remembered we wanted to make a Pork loin roast too. So I had to defrost, but that wasn't to bad. While he was starting the basic preperations I looked around the house to see if any last minute things needed to be picked up or put away or hidden away. Then I took my shower and got beautiful for my guest! Then everyone else took their turn. getting beautiful and then full preperations took place.
There's a lot of work making a Feast. First you have to find every pot, pan, bowl, baking dish you have available in your storage and then figure what are you going to use for the potatoes of course that has to be the biggest pot in the house! But then your daughter yells down from upstairs and says are you making deviled eggs this year? Then you think omG I don't have enough pots or pans to fit 2dozen eggs and 5pounds of potatoes on the stove at once and cook the giblets too. Thank God for Microwaves!
But it all worked out the ballet of the kitchen put the eggs on take them off, put the veggies on put them in a bowl cut the giblets up , cut the celery up, chop the onions up, boil the broth add another pot, mix the stuffing up! I'm getting exhausted all over again but you see how it went. Its a lot of work and it all has to be timed out just right for your guest arrivals. We had a great feast. Our guest brought a huge homemade from scratch Cheesecake and Blueberrie Pie. and a Store bought pumpkin pie but that was alright. they just forgot to bring the whipped cream! We also received two great bottles of wine a New York vineyard brand First Love and Cranberry Bog.Good Sweet fruity wines just right for a Turkey Feast. When the Feast was served the Guest hardly spoke this is when you know that the food was perfect. Just a few mewings in between bites and mmmm I love the Stuffing, Apples? mmmmm then you can let out a sigh of relief that it was good. So I guess watching 5 cooking segments on the Today show and Martha Steward paid off.

Hi fellow bloggers haven't been on for a while side track by life.Lazy I guess. Well it turned out to be a somewhat difficult year. Smaller Jobs for John . Not a very good summer here in the North Country weather wise. Only went in the Pool Twice I think ,Cold, cold. brrr. It rained alot this year. alot of over cast days. But I did manage to go to the Lake once and tried to go another time but it was closed for repairs. :( Got sick in Sept. I'm pretty sure I had that h1n1 I went to the Hospital but I never get good service I have no luck sometimes. So I just treated my symtoms and stayed home from work got better and had the regular flu shot and made my daughter and Anthony get one too. $30.00 a pop wow. Insurance didn't pay I did!. o well thats how it goes at least I had the money. I didn't get to see my Grandchildren at all this summer, was it my fault maybe. But either money was tight for gas or I was working yeah I know excuses. But thats how it turned out this year. My daughter-in-laws mother moved up from Virginia and they spent a lot of time with her this year. So I let it be. Gabbi got a job at the local bakery in Price Chopper our grocery store , she was kind of iffy about it . But it all worked out perfect with her college schedule. I found facebook a strange thing happened one day I was looking at my e-mails on aol and this stranger ask me to join facebook and be his friend I said no I don't even know you. but who ever it was insisted so yes I was curious ( I know curiosity killed the cat) and copied and pasted the address and there I was on facebook. I explored typed in my info and followed the directions and lo and behold all these people from my childhood or highschool or places I worked were on there. More and more each time I found someone or they found me. I liked it. The man that invited me I asked him who he was and thanked him for inviting me asked if he knew my brother because he was from Chicago like him and poof that was the last I saw of him his not on anymore not on my friends page or anywhere. What do you think was he a little messenger sent out to recruit me so I could find my past and present! who knows all I know is that now I'm addicted to facebook and finding my friends , cousins , children and grandchildren on there.

March Started out well enough the coming of Spring in our minds. The changing of a season and lives. My father died suddenly March 14, 2009 a Saturday morning in California. It's a strange feeling to know that now he is gone and not with us here on earth. We know he is well and happy in heaven. 3,000 miles is far now when you know you can't be with your family when ever you get the urge. But thanks to Jet Blue and a neighbor I arrived next day in 6hrs.
I want to thank family and friends that reached out to lend a helping hand to our mother in her time of need and thank you for joining us at our Dad's Memorial Service. It was also nice to see you all even if it was at a sad time for my family thankyou for being there.

Hi everybody its the middle of winter here in the North Country. Cold as H e double hockey sticks !We had a reprieve yesterday it went up to 17 degrees woo hoo! Today its back down in the minuses,Is that a word? Finger splitting dry skin weather! Hair like straw if I use any more conditioner I'll slither down the drain. So what do we do in the middle of winter here? Well if you like freezing temperatures you can Snow board your body down a mountain or ski, boreing to me. I'd probably wind up in a tree. So I do what most of us do best. Go Shopping, Stay home, Look at the temperature gauge and say God its cold and crank up the heater another notch. Drink my Dunkin Donuts Coffee and add an other pound to my winter bear body. I've gotten used to it now get up start the car 15mins. early, scrape the ice or snow from the night before get snow on the edge of my pants and in my sleeves I haven't figured how I do that trick but it happens every time brrrrr. When you open the car door snow always manages to fall all over your seat! Thence cold butt! Ah winter got to love her.

Daniel and Nanny and Grandpa Galy
August flew by. But not really. our Daughter Rebecca arrived August 11th with her little dog Roxy in tow. Drama at the Airport delayed flights Roxy on and off planes . She got to stay with her cousin Nicole and her family in New Jersey a couple of days. Until her flight was ready to fly her out to us in upstate New York! As It turned out August was the best month of the summer .I had the best surprise of my life so far! All my children planned a surprise 60th birthday party for me. Surprise Christine arrived with her whole family Andy , Brandon, Phoebe and little Michaela. We were having a cook out and I was thinking it would be perfect if Our Son Daniel could have come out too. Then Anthony comes up from the basement and says mom I have a friend I want you to meet you don't know him but I know you'll like him and a bunch of his friend pile out one by one the kitchen was full and I was trying to see who it was then this kid comes out with red sun glasses and a cap crouched down and I say who's that? He stands up tall and takes off his hat and glasses and lo and behold it's our Son Daniel I screamed and jumped up and down and cried and hugged him over and over My husband was in shock too everyone was crying and laughing . So I had my wish all my children were here Christine and her family, Paul and his family, Becky and Roxy, Anthony,Daniel and Gabrielle. What a wonderful gift!

He loves his dog Carla and riding the four wheeler with his dad around the yard. He loves to explore and share (his food) his favorite tv show is little Einsteins.
