The Day began with my sweet husband getting up before me and started the day. Coffee of course, He prepared the turkey and took out the giblets for me to use later in my famous stuffing. Then I remembered we wanted to make a Pork loin roast too. So I had to defrost, but that wasn't to bad. While he was starting the basic preperations I looked around the house to see if any last minute things needed to be picked up or put away or hidden away. Then I took my shower and got beautiful for my guest! Then everyone else took their turn. getting beautiful and then full preperations took place.
There's a lot of work making a Feast. First you have to find every pot, pan, bowl, baking dish you have available in your storage and then figure what are you going to use for the potatoes of course that has to be the biggest pot in the house! But then your daughter yells down from upstairs and says are you making deviled eggs this year? Then you think omG I don't have enough pots or pans to fit 2dozen eggs and 5pounds of potatoes on the stove at once and cook the giblets too. Thank God for Microwaves!
But it all worked out the ballet of the kitchen put the eggs on take them off, put the veggies on put them in a bowl cut the giblets up , cut the celery up, chop the onions up, boil the broth add another pot, mix the stuffing up! I'm getting exhausted all over again but you see how it went. Its a lot of work and it all has to be timed out just right for your guest arrivals. We had a great feast. Our guest brought a huge homemade from scratch Cheesecake and Blueberrie Pie. and a Store bought pumpkin pie but that was alright. they just forgot to bring the whipped cream! We also received two great bottles of wine a New York vineyard brand First Love and Cranberry Bog.Good Sweet fruity wines just right for a Turkey Feast. When the Feast was served the Guest hardly spoke this is when you know that the food was perfect. Just a few mewings in between bites and mmmm I love the Stuffing, Apples? mmmmm then you can let out a sigh of relief that it was good. So I guess watching 5 cooking segments on the Today show and Martha Steward paid off.
